[CEO Dossier] Gameweek 12 Overview - Disruption, and Form vs Fixtures
Three points:
- @FPLBaleba echoed the zeitgeist recently when he asked whether we should focus on "form over fixtures" - lately in FPL, favourites have been stumbling (with the exception of Haaland but everyone has him), and the hauls/green arrows have come from lesser known spots e.g. Thiago and Schade from Brentford or even the defensive hauls like Van Der Ven, Ballard, and Keane.
- But it remains the case that without knowing which "niche" element will perform, it's always good to place your bets on both as far as possible - i.e. good players from good fixtures, and only then do we take more uncertain risks. i.e. it still makes sense to first look at teams with good runs (Arsenal) and decent buys (Brighton attack, Crystal Palace, Liverpool punts, and non-Haaland Manchester City players), and only if we are saturated/the budget runs out do we start looking elsewhere.
- Our weekly transfer overview helps with efficiently thinking through the landscape. Even factoring in that our last update was the double-issue a fortnight ago, it's clear (from the many "new" tags) that disruption is going on - Chelsea's fixtures are weakening, Arsenal's games are less of a breeze, while Manchester City and Liverpool are entering great runs but (outside Haaland) there's no clear picks. Look out for our upcoming deep dive on uncommon triple-captain plays and key recommendations!
